Forklift operator of the year 2016. details announced
Entries for The RTITB's forklift operator of the year competition close in three weeks on 30th June 2016. If you want to enter you must register by then. Entry costs £45.00. Entry details are at the bottom of this page.
Taking place every three years, the competition recognises and celebrates the hard work, talent and safe practices of the UK's best forklift operators. The 2016 competition promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
This year any forklift driver may enter, not only those with RTITB certification. Also for the first time it will be an international event and employers from all over the world are invited to enter their drivers and the winner of the recent Forklift Operator of the Year India, Srinvasa N D, has also been invited to compete in the 2016 heats.
Opening on 4th April, the first stage in the competition is a series of online hazard perception tests. Following these tests, the 40 entrants with the top scores will be invited to participate in the next round of heats. For the first time this year, after the on line test the entrant's employer will be sent a report detailing the results and providing recommendations in areas they could improve.
After the on line testing closes on 30th June employers will be sent a ranking showing where their employee sits in relation to every other entrant.
The top 40 entrants will be invited to participate in the next round of heats from 13th to 16th September at the International Materials Handling Exhibition, (IMHX).
The ten best operators from these heats will take place in the final to be held in Telford at RTITB headquarters on November 11th.
