Offset loads, forks and sideshift

offset load forks sideshift

Care should be taken to ensure that the load is picked up centrally on the forks and that the forks are centrally positioned about the truck centreline. In addition the side-shift, if fitted, should always be returned to its central position after use. This also applies to any other attachments such as paper roll clamps and the like.

Whilst having one of the above items offset on its own is unlikely to cause the truck to overturn, combinations of several things all offset in the same direction can cause the truck to become unstable.
