New safety poster in use from April 2014

Jan 30th. Employers have a legal duty under the Health and Safety Information for Employees Regulations (HSIER) to display the approved poster in a prominent position in each workplace or to provide each worker with a copy of the approved leaflet (available as a free download in alternative formats) that outlines British health and safety law. 

The poster replaces the version which was published in April 1999. As well as a download, the leaflet is available in a more convenient format as a pocket card and replaces the leaflet published in April 1999.

The 1999 versions of the approved poster and leaflet are no longer available for sale.

This is an English leaflet version of the Health and safety law poster. You can use this version of the Law poster to distribute to your employees for them to take away with them.

If you choose to purchase the health and safety law poster it must be displayed on all business premises. There are various versions of the poster so that you can select the most appropriate for your business, depending on where in the UK your business is based.

The health and safety law poster products tell workers what they and their employers need to do in simple terms. Other products for employees, including leaflets and pocket cards, are also available.
