Totoya system of active stability (SAS)

The Toyota System of Active Stability is, in my opinion, one of the best things from an operator's point of view that has ever happened to forklift trucks. (Let me just make it clear that I have no connection with the company). For those who haven't come across it the basics are are follows:

  • Makes the truck considerably more stable
  • Allows alignment of the forks with the push of a button
  • Lets the operator "know" where the steering wheels are
It makes the truck a pleasure to operate and also the safest truck on the market. It works by having a number of sensors monitoring most major truck functions and the information from these sensors are fed to a microprocessor. This then controls various items which create the conditions mentioned above. For a detailed look at how it works check out the following pages.
