Rules for using forklift trucks on slopes

Particular care should be taken when operating trucks on inclines. Slopes are always dangerous places for forklift trucks!

When laden the load should always point up the slope that is the truck should be driven forwards up the slope and in reverse when going down the slope. Traveling with the load pointing down the slope can cause the truck to overturn.

Unladen trucks should have their forks pointing down the slope. This is not for stability reasons but simply because the brakes, which are on the front wheels, work better this way.
