rules for importing and exporting goods from the EU after december 31st

Border arrangements EU December 31st14th October 2020. I have just come across this Government document which explains in considerable detail, the arrangements that companies need to make in time for the EU transition period which ends on December 31st 2020.

Whilst this is obviously not directly forklift related, almost all of our imports and exports require the use of fork lift trucks and container handlers so I have included it on this website.

Details
On 1 January 2021 the transition period with the European Union will end, and the United Kingdom will operate a full, external border as a sovereign nation. This means that controls will be placed on the movement of goods between Great Britain and the EU.

To afford industry extra time to make necessary arrangements, the UK Government has taken the decision to introduce the new border controls in three stages up until 1 July 2021.
